FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
APH2O Specifications
- What is NTU?
NTU is a acronym for Nephelometric Turbidity Unit. NTU, or nephelometry, is a measurement of the intensity of scattered or refracted light through water specifically measured in a nephelometer or turbidimeter. Turbidity is the cloudiness or presence of suspended solids in water.
What is RoHS?RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. It is a directive from the European Union that restricts the use of six hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). These substances are:
- Lead (Pb)
- Mercury (Hg)
- Cadmium (Cd)
- Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI))
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
What is bare-gold electrode technology?Bare-Gold electrode technology utilizes a unique gold surface allowing measurement without membranes or electrode solution replacement. The sensor signal is proportional to the diffusion rates of hypochlorous acid and hypochlorite ions from the bulk water directly to the sensor electrode surface.
Will the touch screen work while wearing rubber gloves? The touchscreen will not work while wearing rubber gloves.
Can i hose down the unit? No. Do not washdown the APNTU Analyzer, the unit should be located away from possible water or chemical spray.
Is the unit NSF listed for drinking water? No
