Frequently Asked Questions
APNTU Specifications
- What is NTU?
NTU is a acronym for Nephelometric Turbidity Unit. NTU, or nephelometry, is a measurement of the intensity of scattered or refracted light through water specifically measured in a nephelometer or turbidimeter. Turbidity is the cloudiness or presence of suspended solids in water.
What is a flat surface distal end in quartz glass plate?A flat surface distal end in a quartz glass plate is a flat, polished surface at the end of a quartz glass plate. The flat surface distal end allows for accurate alignment of the quartz glass plate with other optical components.
Define EPA-180.1EPA-180.1 is a standard method for determining the turbidity of water. The EPA-180.1 method is based on the principle of nephelometry. Nephelometry is a method of measuring the amount of light scattered by suspended particles in a liquid. The more suspended particles there are in the water, the more light will be scattered and the higher the turbidity reading will be.
What is the inside diameter of the of the 3/8″ OD W10 weir overflow tubing? The ID for the feedwater tubing is 1/4"
What is the inside diameter of the of the 1/4″ OD feedwater tubing? The ID for the feedwater tubing is 0.17"
Will the touch screen work while wearing rubber gloves? The touchscreen will not work while wearing rubber gloves.
Can i hose down the unit? No. Do not washdown the APNTU Analyzer, the unit should be located away from possible water or chemical spray.
Is the unit NSF listed for drinking water? No
