Powering On the CD1
The CD1 is powered on when plugged into the power source. The pump is now ready to be run manually by pressing the Start/Stop button on the display. Or it can be programmed to run remotely via Remote Start/Stop contact closure and/or 4-20ma speed control (āVā model).
Display and Layout
The CD1 has a touchpad display that is easy to read and simple to program.
The display allows for programming of the following features:
- Remote Start/Stop (Normally Open or Normally Closed)
- FVS (Flow Verification System)
- Pump Lockout
- 4-20ma Input. (āVā Model only)
The CD1 pump also has a Prime button that will run the pump at full speed (100%) for one minute. The prime can be stopped at any time by pressing the Start/Stop button.
The CD1 has a digital display that will show pump speed or motor RPM.
Programming Remote Start/Stop
To program the Remote Start/Stop feature, be sure the pump is not running. If the pump is running, press the Start/Stop key to stop the pump.
To program for Normally Open operation:
- Confirm that pump is in the OFF position
- Press Remote Start/Stop button to activate
- Light will turn green for āNormally Openā Operation
- To put pump in Ready state, press Start/Stop button
- Display will show āSBYā when waiting for contact closure signal
- Display will show pump speed (or RPM, 4-20ma) when signal is closed
To program for Normally Closed operation:
- Confirm that pump is in the OFF position, and Remote Start/Stop light is off
- Press and hold Remote Start/Stop button for 5-7 seconds
- Light will turn Red for āNormally Closedā Operation
- To put pump is Ready state, press Start/Stop button
- Display will show āSBYā when waiting for contact closure to Open
- Display will show pump speed (or RPM, 4-20mA) when signal is Open
Programming FVS
The FVS ā Flow Verification System is used with a flow meter or flow sensor (provided separately). When the pump stops receiving a signal from the flow sensor, an alarm will trigger and the pump will stop.
To program the FVS:
- Confirm that pump is in the OFF position
- Press and hold FVS button (5-7 seconds)
- Toggle up/down arrow to set Delay Time (Alarm Delay range is 1-20 seconds)
- Press and hold FVS button (5-7 seconds)
- Activate by pressing FVS button once. Light On indicates activation. Press again to deactivate.
When the FVS has triggered, the screen will blink āFvSā, and the pump will stop. In addition, the FVS Output alarm will close.
To reset the FVS, press the Start/Stop button.
Activating PumpLockout Feature
Pump Lockout feature allows the user to ālock outā the ability to change pump controls, such as Pump Speed, Prime, FVS, Remote Start/Stop, Manual/4-20ma Modes. The user will still be able to start and stop the pump.
To activate the Pump Lockout Feature:
- Pump can be running or in the OFF position
- Press and hold Lockout button (5-7 seconds)
- Light will activate
- To de-activate, press and hold Lockout button (5-7 seconds)
Programming 4-20mA Input (on āVā Model only)
The CD1V Pump includes 4-20mA input speed control. The 4-20mA signal can be scaled to control pump speed between 0-100% speed.
To program and scale the 4-20mA Input:
- Confirm that pump is in the OFF position.
- Press and hold 4-20mA Input button.
- MIN mA light will illuminate. Use arrow keys to toggle min mA value for the pump to operate at
- Press 4-20mA Input button for MIN % Speed light to illuminate
- Use arrow keys to toggle MIN % Speed value for the pump to operate.
- Press 4-20mA Input button for MAX mA light to illuminate.
- Use arrow keys to toggle MAX mA value for the pump to operate.
- Press 4-20mA Input button for MAX % Speed light to illuminate.
- Use arrow keys to toggle MAX % Speed value for the pump to operate.
- Press and hold 4-20mA Input button to exit programming mode.
The put the pump in 4-20mA Input mode, ensure the 4-20mA light is on, or press the 4-20mA key to activate (light on).
4-20mA Output (on āVā Model only)
The 4-20mA output signal is always active. The output is not scalable and represents 0-100% motor speed.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
CD1 Set-Up and Controls
- What type of flow verification sensors can this pump accept? What signal types?
The CD1 pump can accept flow verification signals from a Blue-White FVS or Blue-White S6A/MS6 Flow Sensor. These sensors provide a pulse output with a frequency interval less than the 20 second delay timer on the pump.
Is there a suggested wiring diagram for I/O3, P1 and P2, pump motor run connection? Can I/O2, P3 power my MS6 meter?Yes, you can power it by connection FVS+(P3) and FVS- (P4) on the respective + and - on the power terminals of the MS6.
Is this pump available for hard wiring? without a power cord? This pump is not available for hard wiring. You can configure the pump to be equipped with a NEMA 5/15 115V 50/60Hz, CEE 7/V11 220V 50/60Hz, or without a power cord equipped at all. The user can install any power cord that has an IEC socket connections on it as long as the voltage will be between 96V-264V 50/60Hz. It is strongly recommended that the operator uses a plug that is rated SJWT to ensure the cords insulation is water resistant.
