Powering On the F-2000
If using the F-2000 RT Model with Battery power, four (4) AA Batteries are needed to operate properly. Batteries are included. Always use all fresh batteries when replacing batteries. Once batteries are installed, the unit is ready.
If using power from a provide transformer, the unit will power on once it is plugged in.
Display
The F-2000 Flowmeter has an LCD 8-digit display. Up to four decimal places. Units of measure and decimal location are pre-programmed at the factory. The F-2000 can be re-programmed in the field. (See Operating Manual for instructions.)
All programming is done via the front panel buttons.
Programming and reset can be disabled for security.
Features and Set-up for the F-2000 RT Model
The F-2000 RT Flowmeter has the ability to display flow rate or flow totalization. Press “Enter” to toggle between modes.
Display the rate of flow up to eight digits. Display the total amount of flow up to eight digits.
Output includes an open collector signal (NPN) that is proportional to the flow rate.
Programmable battery saving mode. (Screen blanks after 30seconds)
Display can be mounted on the sensor or panel mounted (1/4 DIN).
Display can be rotated on sensor. See figure 6.
Features and Set-up for the F-2000 PC Model
The F-2000 PC Model has the ability to display flow rate or flow totalization. Press “Enter” to toggle between. · The PC Model cannot be battery operated.
Programmable features of the PC Model:
- NO / NC contact closure / relay.
- Rate alarms can be latched requiring a manual reset.
- Programmable “alarm release value” provides hysteresis to prevent relay flickering (see manual).
- High and low range alarms can be independently programmed.
- Alarm delay timer temporarily silences alarms for a programmed time from 0-999 seconds.
- Independent display and resetting of batch count and batch amount.
- Front panel clearing of batch counts and amounts can be disabled.
- Turn on / off external devices, for a programmable time from 0-999 seconds per batch.
Features and Set-up for the F-2000 AO Model
The F-2000 AO Model has the ability to output analog signal, either 4-20ma or 0-10VDC, to an external device. The output signal will be proportional to the flow rate.
The AO Model cannot be battery operated.
Programmable features of the AO Model:
- Front panel programmable zero and span.
- 20-4mA and 10-0VDC inverted logic capabilities.
- Front programming can be disabled for security.
- 4-20mA or 10VDC output signal (factory default) selected via jumper pin located on the circuit board.
Basic Controls
When ordered as a complete system, the F-2000 is factory-programmed for the flow range specified when placing the order. The F-2000 PC, AO, and AP units will required field programming. The F-2000 will also require programming and calibration when purchased without components (fittings), or when changing the type of fitting(pipe size) in the field.
For basic flow and totalization operation:
· Press “Enter” button to toggle between RATE and TOTAL display modes. The icon will light to indicate the active mode.
· Press and hold “Enter” button for at least 1.25 seconds to enter the programming mode. Allow twenty seconds to pass so the display will switch back to the readout mode.
· While the TOTAL mode is displayed, press “Clear Total” to reset the total amount to zero. (Rest must be enabled in the program)
Calibration of F-2000
If calibration is needed, we recommend reviewing the Instruction Manual for the F-2000 RT unit. All calibration instructions are the same for all models (RT, PC, AO, AP).
Programming the F-2000 PC, AO, and AP models
The F-2000 PC, AO, and AP models will need to be programmed to use each of the desired features and functions of each model. Reference the Instruction Manual for the PC, AO, and AP models for specific step-by-step instruction on programming.
