A4S Specifications
- What is a Tri-Clamp fitting?
Tri-Clamp fittings and connections are used primarily in the food and beverage industry for sanitary applications. Tri-Clamp fittings minimize leaks and contamination by providing a better seal between fittings. A complete Tri-Clamp section consists of two ferrule or flanges meeting together with a gasket in between, and a clamp around the outside of the piping/flanges. Tri-Clamp fittings provided on Blue-White tubes will fit both 1/2" and 3/4" Tri-Clamp fittings.
How accurate is the analog input? e.g. If I send it 0.1 mA, will the pump read 0.1 mA? Could the pump possible run if I send it 4.0mA?The A3, A4, M3, M4 pumps will read 4-20mA signals to a resolution of .05 mA. The pumps will be able to read signals in increments of 0.1 mA. It is possible the pump may not read the exact value of signal being sent from the control/PLC/SCADA, as there can be electrical noise due to proximity to power wiring and equipment. Ensure properly grounded shielded cables are used on all signal wiring. If the pump is running with a 4.0 mA signal, check wiring and test 4-20mA signal at the pump. Also check 4-20 mA scaling to ensure a 4.0 mA signal results in 0 flow output.
Can I use the suction tubing on the discharge side of the pump? What is the maximum pressure capability of the suction tubing? The clear PVC suction tubing and opaque polyethylene (PE) discharge tubing included with some pump models are provided to aid in pump installation. The clear PVC tubing is rated for 40 PSI. It can be used on discharge as long as pressure is lower than 40 PSI.
What is accuracy of my pump? The accuracy of the A4/A4S is +/-5% full-scale accuracy. When the tube has been calibrated the A4/A4S are +/-2% rate accuracy. The motor accuracy is +/-0.5% rated accuracy of the indicated RPM. These accuracy claims are only for water at 72°F with a 5-foot suction lift at atmospheric conditions of sea level.
How do I calculate pump output per 1 revolution?Default Value is pumping Water. If pumping other than water, make sure feed rate value is calibrated and corrected feed rate value is used. Divide max feed rate value (use ml/mn) divide by max rpm of pump = output per 1 revolution.
How do I convert RPM into Motor Speed?Determine Max RPM of pump. Select indicated RPM value then divide by Max RPM of pump = New Factor. Use New Factor multiply x 100 = Motor Speed.
How do I determine if a pump tube is compatible with the roller assembly installed in my pump?Rollers have tube part numbers embossed on the front face. Inspect roller and tube part number to ensure compatibility. Additional information on tube and roller compatibility is available in the Instruction Manuals under Replacement Parts.
Can I use the discharge tubing on the suction side of the pump? What is the maximum pressure capability of the discharge tubing?Yes. The clear PVC suction tubing and opaque polyethylene (PE) discharge tubing included with some pump models are provided to aid in pump installation. The opaque PE discharge tubing is rated for 150 PSI. It can be used as suction tubing.
Can I use any size suction and discharge tubing? or any brand I want?Yes. However, size and material of suction and discharge tubing should be consistent and appropriate for the chemical, flow, and pressure of the system.
