General Maintenance
The MICRO-FLO Flow Sensor requires minimal maintenance. During normal operation, there is no need for regular maintenance.
If the unit has not been in service for an extended period, it is recommended to inspect the fluid path by removing the sensor and cleaning the paddlewheel and axle.
Some conditions will cause increased wear on the paddle and/or possible damage to the unit. Damage caused by corrosive or abrasive fluids is not covered under warranty.
- Periodically remove the sensor assembly from the pipe/tubing and inspect the meter for signs of wear and obstructions. Clean the paddle of any foreign objects. Paddle and axle wear can be caused by chemical attack and/or abrasive fluids. Replace the paddle and axle if worn.
- To clean or replace the paddlewheel/axle, remove the four screws on the front and remove the front cover. Be careful to notice the O-ring. The paddlewheel and axle can now be removed, cleaned, or replaced.
- O-rings should be inspected periodically. Immediately replace the O-rings at any sign of wear, swelling, cracking, or discoloration.
- Test the electronics by spinning the paddle by hand. While spinning, the sensor should provide pulses as long as incoming VDC power is still being provided.
